MOTUL TO BECOME MOTOAMERICA SUPERBIKE CLASS TITLE PARTNER!

Already a key player at the highest levels of two-wheeled competition, Motul’s name will from 2017 be seen more prominently alongside one of North America’s most vibrant new racing series, MotoAmerica. The leading competition lubricant specialist has signed an agreement to become a supporting sponsor of the series plus title sponsor of the Superbike Class.

  • Moto-ing in America

MotoAmerica is a young, fast-growing North American road racing series with, at its head, three-time 500cc World Champion, two-time AMA Superbike Champion and AMA Hall of Famer, Wayne Rainey. Sanctioned by FIM North America, it is a natural fit for Motul’s increased involvement – the company has been Official Lubricant Partner to the FIM since 2012.

The primary goal of MotoAmerica, formed in 2014, was to reinvigorate motorcycle racing in North America, opening it up to a new generation of American and international racers for the world stage. It features five classes of competition, covering all ages and levels of experience, and Motul will sponsor the lead Superbike class.

The 2017 calendar has been expanded to 10 rounds, and will run from April to September, visiting some of North America’s most prestigious and historic race tracks. TV coverage of the series will be broadcast on the beIN Sport channel.

  • The Names in the Frame

While details of Motul’s full support in the Superbike class in 2017 will be announced at a later date, its 2016 involvement featured technical support of selected riders and teams. These included Superbike rider Jake Gagne who dominated the Superstock 1000 class in 2015 with 13 victories on the way to the title, and Patricia Fernandez of the ADR/Motul/Fly Racing team in Superstock 600. Patricia Fernandez was one of the few women riders and, while guesting at the Ulster Grand Prix this year claimed the title of the World’s Fastest Woman on a street circuit!

  • The Men in the Know

Wayne Rainey - MotoAmerica President and three-time 500cc World Champion: "Motul has really stepped up for next year. Not only are they a supporting partner of our series going forward, but they’ve also committed to being the class sponsor of our premier Superbike class. Motul is a big sponsor of motorcycle road racing worldwide and we’re happy to have them as a part of MotoAmerica. I also have a relationship with them that goes back to 1990 when they were a sponsor of mine during my first World Championship.”

Guillaume Pailleret, President of Motul North America: "There isn't a better way to support American road racing than being the Superbike class exclusive sponsor, where teams, strategies, and machines are pushed to the limit. It is a wonderful opportunity to be able to showcase our products through our teams, and to have our name as a central piece of MotoAmerica races and events. This event, along with other prestigious FIM-sanctioned races like MotoGP and the Motul FIM Superbike World Championship shape a unique trio of extremely challenging motorcycle events, which Motul sponsors at the top level. We couldn't possibly be prouder of being a part of the MotoAmerica adventure."

Dave Wolman, Director, Center of Excellence (CoE) Powersport Americas: “We are extremely proud to be partnered with the premier American road racing series and to be the Official Lubricant of the SuperBike Class... Motul is committed worldwide to supporting the Powersport industry and this new partnership will aid the USA series, the teams, and our development of high performance motorcycle products."
