Thrilling end to Moto GP season lined up for Gran Premio Motul De La Comunitat Valenciana
Following the thrills, spills and rain-affected race in Sepang, all eyes will be on the 2017 season finale which takes place in Valencia on the eastern coast of Spain on Sunday 12th November. There now remains one race to be won, championship titles to be claimed and celebrations to be held!
The Gran Premio Motul de la comunitat Valenciana closes out the 18-round championship, with Motul as title sponsor for the third consecutive year and the fourth Motul GP of the season within the world’s premier two-wheeled championship.
What’s Hot on the track…
Already crowned as 2017 rookie of the year is Johann Zarco from the Motul-sponsored Yamaha Tech3 Team. The Frenchman, a two-time Moto2 Champion, has been a regular top six finisher and has impressed at every round, finishing on the podium in Malaysia and 6th overall in the final standings in his first Moto GP season: Many congratulations, Johann, from all at Motul!
In Valencia, as last year, 9 of the 22 riders are Spanish including 2017 points leader and defending champion Marc Marquez who will be seeking to secure his fourth championship title. The Spanish fans are passionate and vocal in their support of all things Moto GP – especially the top riders – and the weekend is one not to be missed. Among others in the field, the progress of the four Motul sponsored teams should be noted: Team Suzuki Moto GP, Yamaha Tech 3, Aprilia Racing Team Gresini and Avintia racing team. Will Zarco get his first win and third pole of the year? It’s super close going into the final round… don’t miss a minute.
And off the track too…
The action doesn’t just take place on track in Valencia as there’s also plenty to see and do in the village. Motul’s booth will host a “Motul MC Care Pit Stop” activity where visitors to the race weekend will be able to test the comprehensive range of maintenance products by, for example, cleaning their helmets with the helmet and visor clean and helmet interior clean, or their leather jackets with Motul’s perfect leather.
There will also be a static show bike with Motul technical expert on hand to show how products for the chain can be best used (Chain Clean, Chain Paste and Chain Lube), as well as tutorial videos to show how to use the full MC Care range.
Motul’s new-for-2017 virtual reality tournament has just three rounds to run and those taking part will be in line to win a full VIP Experience as a guest of Motul at the 2018 Grand Premio Motul be la Republica Argentina. Get closer to the real action, get ready for the ultimate Virtual Reality Experience, and maybe get ready for a trip to South America!
Motul’s ‘Superfan’ contest has, over the last two years, become an established and popular part of MotoGP weekends and the program will draw to a close for this year in Valencia after playing host to fans from 17 different counties.
For this race, in addition to the usual once in a lifetime experience that the lucky few who got selected after using the #MotulSuperFan hashtag on social media enjoyed (meting with Motul; riders, access to the grid and getting closer to the whole Moto GP experience), Motul proposes a very special surprise to its 36th Superfan! Stay tuned to discover what’s coming next!
